AUTHOR - ETTA BRANDT

Etta Brandt writes literary dark fantasy for readers who want their impossible things grounded in coherent rules - supernatural worlds you can pressure-test, populated by people you would recognize from your own city. Her fiction lives at what she calls the wrong side of the fabric: the back walls of beautiful rooms, the service corridors of old institutions, the places where the people who hold everything together stand just out of the light.  She is preoccupied with power and complicity - with how the worst things rarely arrive dressed as horror, and how often they come disguised as an answered prayer. Her protagonists are not chosen heroes but competent, watchful adults who solve the problem twenty minutes before anyone else notices it exists.
